    Birding at Loch of Kinnordy

Thanks Sorry we missed you on Sunday we arrived just after 1pm, what a great spot. We saw most of the birds on your update apart from the Brambling. A very beautiful reserve especially in the winter sun glinting off the frozen water. Fantastic air display from the Whoopers. I will make an...

    Birding at Loch of Kinnordy

I'm staying in Glen Prosen this weekend and thought I would have a quick search of the forums for the Kirriemuir area. I have not been to Loch Kinnordy before but after reading your thread I can't wait. Thanks for the updates on a great thread. I'll let you know what we see. Can't understand how...

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best online binocular stores? In particular are there any stockists of Vortex Viper 8x42 that you can recommend?

Hello from an oil platform in the North Sea.

Hi Calum, I was on Lewis during the summer, great place and people. Seemigly there are redneck phalarope at Loch na Muilne although I haven't seen any. Good to hear that you are getting in some birdwatching offshore and it is very interesting the many types of bird you can see out there.

Does my Bag look Big in this?

Thanks SC2Birders, I've already ordered a Lowepro Fastpack 350. However, I did look at the site you listed and found they had a UK outlet. Oh no another site with great camera accessories!!! After my last post about being frugal I have to admit to being addicted to all things camera...

Does my Bag look Big in this?

Finally Hi, just a quick update and thanks to Christine and Frank for their advice. I had a look at both bags, and couple more in some local shops and I really liked the 350 because of it's backpack setup, the 300 had more than enough room I just liked the two straps. The shops couldn't compete...

Does my Bag look Big in this?

Thanks Christine, I like the idea of swinging round without having to take off the backpack. A couple of the local camera shops have the 300 and the 350 I'm going to try and get to them one lunchtime this week and see how they feel, and then cheekily buy it on the web.

Does my Bag look Big in this?

I had a look at this and it certainly looks like the best option for me. When you see the pictures on the various web sites you never really get a feel for what these bags can carry, even the spec can sometimes be misleading. It is great and much appreciated to get some unbiased opinion from...

Does my Bag look Big in this?

Hi, Wonder if anyone has any suggestions for a good backpack. I would like it to carry: Pair of bins. Canon 40d. Canon 100-400mmIS. Sigma 18-200mm. Strap on monopod. The odd bird book. And of couse snacks etc Ideally it would have a raincover as I mainly travel around Scotland and it...

    Hello,

Thanks Thanks for your warm welcome. I live in Edinburgh, not exactly the wilderness but a great base to get around Scotland. My property backs on to a small woodland so when I am not travelling about watching nature I am looking out my window.
