All your paintings are sooo good, but I especially like your coppersmith barbets with the beaks full of berries.
oh and although this is a 'birdforum' this art bit actually says 'wildlife art'
so it's fine to post animals (and plants) of all kinds.
Thank you, I like to mix different medias, but I haven't tried anything like that. I love that artwork! I would never guess there was toilet roll on it! :t: I have incorporated marker pen into some of my drawings but sometimes I get it a bit wrong and it seems to come out a bit cartoon-like :-O...
Wow, lots of responses :D
Thanks everyone :t: Will try sketching again soon, I would have done more of the swans- they were making lovely shapes whilst preening, but it started raining and smudging my sketchbook! it's hard to find somewhere where there are birds that stay relatively still...
Thank you everyone! Eagles are really iconic birds.
Liquid len, glad you like my latest drawings! I see what you mean, all the gear and no idea ;) I've been looking at what people can do with coloured pencils and I'm absolutely amazed :eek!: no one could ever say they are a child's media!
White tailed sea eagle, in coloured pencils (but the background colour is watercolour)
drawn from a photo I took of a captive bird last year. I would love to see one in the wild, but I'll have to wait for that!
Thank you so much everyone. loads more stuff to come. The pencils cost about 4 pound for a big box of them! I want some derwent but they sure are expensive!
Haha, and yes, my name doesn't really give anything away!
to save confusion, you can call me Amy :D
I post my vids, drawings and photos all on my flickr http://tinyurl.com/6kja7u8 if you have one you can add me as a contact. If not, i recommend you get one as it's a great place to look at other wildlife photos and drawings :):t:
nooo, you shouldn't compare eachothers work.but anyway, your waaay better at field sketching than me, looking at that gull sketch. I've never came close to that! Had a look at your blog- looks like your good at photography too! I like to photograph and film birds too :) love the lesser spotted...
Tim and Gaby, thank you !
Phil, Thank you so much, I really appreciate your encouragement. I don't even know what to say to such a kind comment!! I'll keep posting away. The comments I get on here, as well as the constant inspiration of other artists work, always makes me want to draw and paint...
