    Just received a 10x42L

My pair of 10x42s arrived yesterday. The stabilization is quite fantastic. For me, neither the ER nor the comfort of the eye guards are an issue without glasses. skies are forecast to be clear tonight which will give me a opportunity for a star test.

Thanks Dave. It sounds like the uncomfortable eyecup issue is also one of personal ergonomics.

    Just received a 10x42L

One of the issues mentioned regarding this camera has been the uncomfortable eye cups. Has a DIY fix been found?

😕why wouldn’t ergonomics be part of the decision criteria?

    Just received a 10x42L

I tested 8x42NL and 12x42NL earlier this week. Very nice glass and oh so comfortable to hold. Now I understand what the commotion is all about. But that sticker price! unfortunately there are no bricks and mortar shops within a 5 hour drive where I can test Canon IS. i was really hoping to test...

12x42 NL instead of 10x42 NL for birding ?

I have been asking myself the same question as the OP. Will the wider field of view allow the 12x42 to be as comfortable as my current 8x42 for birding. Only testing will tell.

    What is the 3D Effect?

That is quite clear, thanks. It almost sounds like some of the commentary when using 100 degree EPs for astronomical use. That feeling of falling into the view. But of course that is all your brain's perception because in most cases astronomical viewing is with a single EP.

    What is the 3D Effect?

This week I am, hoping to get a chance to test some alpha binos. My Nikon Monarch7 8x42 have severEd me well over the past 6 years, but it is time to test some higher end units. So what is this 3D effect? it Sounds like field flatteners remove this effect. What should I be looking for?

    Just received a 10x42L

Great review by Kimmo. It appears the review was conducted in 2006. Has Canon made any changes to this model since then? Specifically the ER and eye cups.

Has anyone posted a detailed review of these binos. I was disappointed to see that Roger Vine has not.

Swarovski 12x42 NL Pure and Leica 12x50 Ultravid+ comparisons

Charlie: thanks for this review. I am looking to upgrade from my Nikon Monarch 7, 8 x 42s which have an 8 degree field of view. I hadn’t consider these binos until I read Roger Vines review. You seem to confirm some of Rogers comments. I had thought a 12 power would just be too twitchy for...

Higher Companion Magnification To The 8X42 NL Pure - 12X42 NL Pure?

I just finished reading Roger Vine's review of the NL 12 X 42. He found, that with the wider view and the ergonomics of the NL design, that using the 12 X 42's for birding is not the issue it is for other binos. He did not use the forehead rest but one would expect even better stability. What...

Swarovski Canada - Service and Warrantee

I am currently considering moving from my Nikon Monarchs to one of the Alpha manaufacturers. Service is an important factor in my consideration. There are numerous positive reports on Swarovski's service in Europe. Does anyone have any experience in their service in Canada? The Swarovski...
