    Majorca Birding

Arlequin Press do 'Birding in Mallorca' by the late Graham Hearl. Probably the best birding guide book to buy for Mallorca and it's not expensive. You can also go the other way from C'an Picafort to the Arta mountains for a change. The best way is to hire a car...then you can go anywhere. You...

    Price increase - UK only?

But Sig...that's exactly my point...everyone should be able to afford the access...but the vast majority of the population is screwed into the ground financially and govererned by politicians who clearly have no idea what it's like to live in the real world! As for the tunnel, us Wirralians...

Do You List "Heard Only" Birds?

I had no intention of starting a debate between the two....the point I was making is that the bird is there and you've detected it, so it's valid. paj

Colleges/Universities for Ornithology or Environmental Biology

Ornithology courses are few and far between but have a look at www.biosciences.bham.ac.uk/tpd/ornithology.htm These are very good and recognised courses. The CertHE is 1st year BSc and the DipHE is 2nd year BSc....they are also working towards offering an MSc in Ornithology. paj

    Gulf Stream

They did say that they were not sure if the 30% decrease was a seasonal or regular effect and that now the sensors were in place, they would know more in a years time. Frank

    Gulf Stream

That's right Tim...it is due for a flip.....just make sure you're not flying when it decides to go! From memory, the jury's still out on whether the flips happen as in 'bang it's gone' or if it's a gradual change. Frank

    How waterproof is your anorak?

Being a Fisherman most of my life, I have owned Barbours (Border and Northumbria)...they're great jackets in looks and performance, apart from the fact that Barbour have never realised that some people have longer arms than others. So, when they're dry the sleeves are Just long enough, but a...
