    Collared Doves

I'm soon annoyed by lots of things unfortunately, maybe thats the trouble dram. Sounds like the "driving to nest" as you call it has been happening in my neighbourhood in the last month, seems likely. You seem to be better informed about the doves than me, I will have to do some reading, you...

    Collared Doves

collared doves Hi again Fugl, Thanks for replying. Remember Reno was very often mentioned, in the coyboy films here in the UK, when I was young! Gamblings a big industry in Reno also, isn't it Fugl? It was a some what hectic visit to the US, so unfortunately had little time to spot the birds...

    Blackbirds

    Collared Doves

I am a bird lover, who like everyone else I suppose, has favourites. Mines the Willow Warbler, a great little bird who's song heralds the coming of spring. On the other hand, I have developed a very strong dislike of the Collared Dove, Nice looking bird, but after that there a nightmare! The...

    Blackbirds

From what I have seen, the new cock would have to do the dirty deed while the female was away from the nest. A female blackbird is quite capable of seeing off the cock, if she wishes.
