    Which bino?

The other point is the FL will stay at that value, or even increase, but the Conquest value will drop to second hand value as soon as it is bought. FL is better, but I am a huge fan of conquests, possibly the best value for money out there for a 'new' purchase in my opinion.

Is the 8x32 Victory SF really worth almost 2.5x the cost of the 8x32 Conquest HD?

The Conquest is just so good, you can't possibly be disappointed with it. Great binocular!!

    Victory FL vs SF

Yes Grandpa Tom, you are absolutely correct, I did post that. I must have been having a quiet day, for such a long post!! But what I was pertaining to in that post, was not 'Faults and defects' but merely parameters of design that cannot be overcome (as yet). In this last post, I wonder why...

    Victory FL vs SF

Why is there a difference between the FL's and the SF's with regard to problems. If anything it should be the other way around, with technical progress etc. Seems the same story with Swaro's, and now we hear of issues regarding Leica's armouring showing cracks even when fairly new and had little...

Is the 8x32 Victory SF really worth almost 2.5x the cost of the 8x32 Conquest HD?

Oh.... and finally, take everthing I say with a pinch of salt, 'cos i'm the idiot who still wants a pair of Habichts even with all their problems๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Is the 8x32 Victory SF really worth almost 2.5x the cost of the 8x32 Conquest HD?

The other thing you've got to consider is useage. Some folk just will not be happy spending over 2k on bins and taking them everywhere, really using them, (part of that huge expense is the everyday durability and warranties you get). They become too precious, and don't get used. Conquests have a...

Is the 8x32 Victory SF really worth almost 2.5x the cost of the 8x32 Conquest HD?

The return is not a lot considering the outlay, but some folk just have to have the best. I tried both and just could not justify the 'more than double' price, but, yes, the SF's were better. I bought the Conquests, and subsequently sold them to a friend!!! I'll bet if I'd splashed out on the...

    Nikon 8x30 HG vs. Leica 8x32 UVHD+

It's never worth putting a lower cost binocular for use elsewhere if you own the best. It will always be sub standard, and you will always be thinking about your alphas when using them.....!!

Well said. No one would be disappointed with conquests, least of all when you check your bank balance!!!!

    Binocular upgrade

I don't find much difference between the 8's and 10's optically. I've had both, and there's never been a time where I can see something with a 10, that I couldn't with an 8. However, I do prefer the steadier image of an 8, and firmly believe you see more through an 8, unless you can support the...

    Victory FL vs SF

Just another thought. I bought my 9 year old some 2nd hand bins of his own. He can dig sand castles with those for all I care๐Ÿ˜‚ I didn't trust him to pamper my bins to the correct level!!!! Ace optics have some superb 2nd hand bins, right down to ยฃ80 odd quid, and upto alpha. They're all checked...

    Victory FL vs SF

Hard to disagree with. The gains are slight, but they are there. You also get better build generally with the alphas, and better warranty. But conquests are fantastic bins, and for the money, exceptional in my opinion. I stated before that I probably shouldn't have gone on the upgrade path with...
