    Digiscoping with Nikon S70?

Got my eyes on the Nikon S70 Camera. Was wondering if anyone has tried it with the Nikon ED50 Fieldscope? Would a Nikon S70 even be attachable to any sort of Field Scope? The design doesn't seem typical of the cameras I've been recommended.

    Finland in two weeks time?

Yeah considering hiring a guide and have already contacted a birder I know from Helsinki who can only join me at the weekend. What I'm particularly looking for is the best sites from Tampere so I can piece together an interity, and at least have a go at it no matter how poor the conditions are.

    Finland in two weeks time?

Wow, not good news. Well my flights are on the 12th of March and 22nd of March (closer to 4 weeks than 2, bad Maths/excitement on my part). guessing travel is going to be very difficult. Just found some cheaper car rental btw, so looks like I will be able to rent a car for the full time I'm...

    Finland in two weeks time?

Just been offered ultra cheap flights to Tampere, saw this as an opportunity to finally do some birdwatching in the area. Thinking of renting a car, but all seem very expensive at the moment. Basically I want to go try and get some views of the Owls: Ural, Great Grey, Pygmy, Hawk and Tengmalm's...

    Scandinavia in September

Cheers man, definitely considering that suggestion. Just wondering what the best time to visit Sweden/Finland for the Owls and Woodpeckers is then? Just for future reference.

    Recommended budget holiday September

Indeed, this is why I was looking for another cheaper holiday to compliment it. I am toying with the idea of flying straight from Stockholm to Sofia at the moment!

    Scandinavia in September

I have noticed a distinct lack of trip reports from these two countries at this time of year. Apart from a few from falsterbo and oland in sweden, which seem to talk of migrant species rather than the local specialties I described. is there a reason for this? is searching for local specialties...

    Scandinavia in September

am on the verge of booking a couple of trips abroad, and was just wondering what chances I would have of seeing the local specialties in Finland/Sweden specifically in September. ie. Owls, woodpeckers, sibe jay + tit, red-flanked blue tail and hazel hen, pine grosbeak and the buntings. (amongst...

    Recommended budget holiday September

I have a bit of free time this September, and was thinking of going to Scandinavia for one holiday, and somewhere else in for another c.10-14day holiday. I would rather do it as cheap as possible, with a vague budget of £400, which I would up if the location sounded good enough. I was just...

    Scooters In Portugal

I'm thinking of going birding in Iberia next year, and thought a great mode of transport would be a scooter. I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about the pricing, availability and law concerning scooters (eg. Vespas) in Portugal. I heard they are widely used by locals, but I don't know...

    Buying Equipment From Hong Kong

It really does depend. If the goods are a lot cheaper then I'd consider going. I'd probably get them insured by English companies after purchase.
