NL 32's vs 42's eyepiece lens & eyecup size

I just now looked at the ocular lens, held my steel rule near to, and yes the difference in diameter is visually apparent. From holding the rule close it seems likely 3mm difference in diameter. I'm not one to place the rule on the lens, so i could be off by several mm. Am comparing a 12x42 to...

Problem with green coating of EL SV 8x32

I'm sorry you have the armor problem. it is easily fixed by Swarovski, and they do good service on their products. I understand your geographic location adds a nearly insurmountable obstacle to getting factory service. I got exceptionally fed up with this particular thread. No big deal, I just...

    Glare Monsters!

...again I have no idea whats going on in this thread having just crawled from under the bridge in Trollhatten...but...I'll just state one more time as an NL FANBOY, that all previous generations of 'normal' Binocular Manufacturers........are just out of date in terms of Ergonomics...I know...

    Glare Monsters!

I just enjoy the view thru the 8x32 NL. If there is glare present in the immediate environs, I put the caps on the oculars. much of the glare that the inexperienced users complain about is due to a lack of practice. The NL, in my experience, does not exhibit glare, simply due to this user not...

Exit pupil on the 12X42 NL

I do not think that. I attributed a slightly dimmer view from the 12x42, compared to the EL10x42, to the exit pupil. I use the forehead rest not for stability, but for eye placement. I do not think the view is finicky relative to eye placement. I do think the forehead rest promotes good eye...

    Spotting Space

I enjoy the new moon at 25x. Saw rings of Saturn last summer. Did not know the crescent phases of Venus. The view of Saturn was clear and clean at 2 a.m.

    Thoughts on Hawk-watching.

agree with No 1....2,3,4,5..yes yes agree with No 6 for the first time in several years of trying to differentiate the hawks, the other day spotted a large bird soaring downhill from me, watched feathers shift as it gained altitude gliding in front of me, and then looping back around above me...

    ATS/STS videohead - direct mounting?

I've used a RRS BH-55 for photography, with RRS QR plates. works good to keep camera 'motionless'. For movements of ATX, the Sirui VA-5, with Sirui QR plates, is functional for all the motion I want in the scope, and it can 'lock' down enough.

Problem with green coating of EL SV 8x32

Utilizing appropriate channels I have received replacement objective lens amour. Despite the Bird Forum maelstrom that this thread embodies, I will purchase future product from SwarovskiOptik

Slight variation of Ocular lens rain guard attachment via cord. rain guard dangles freely from neck strap instead of strap lug.
