    Corncrake or Pheasant?

On the balance of probabilities I would say an Ocean Sunfish nesting in the eaves of his house is more likely.

    Corncrake or Pheasant?

Forget all this science. It’s not a Corncrake. Sorry to be so blunt about it.

    Birdguides new system

I'm involved in systems development and when launching something new people always want to hark back to what they know, irrespective of whether it was actually better or not. Take some time to play around with the functionality and you'll figure it out, presumably in the same way you figured the...

    Birdguides new system

    Long staying rarities

    UK- odd bird in garden

My first impression too. It resembles the long staying individual from last year. I would be interested to know where the photo was taken. If it was in South Devon it could well be the 2010 East Prawle bird relocating.

    Eyebrowed Thrush in Norolk

    Long Tailed Duck?? UK

Looks like a Mandarin to me Lee. They are relatively common in the Thames area to the west of London & Windsor. Long-tailed Duck is more of a coastal species and they are uncommon in the south east.
