    I'm have been planning this trip for many years but hope to go through with it in the Spring of 2019. A 3 month+ journey by 4x4 from Fife in Scotland to Mongolia and back again. I will be trying to pick up as many of the regional specialties as possible like White winged and Black Larks...

    A lovely male Hen Harrier this morning, between Portmoak moss and the Airfield near Scotlandwell. A nice surprise on a pleasant morning.

    My experience of rossie bog is that it is only really viewable from the road side. The best area probably being from the field to the north of easter kilwhiss farm. It used to be a pretty reliable place for wintering hen harrier but they seem scarcer these days but passage wader are regular and...

    In sight of the influx of awesome birds into the forth following the storm, I tried my luck at Carlingnose point at N. Queensferry. No Leach's petrels but lots of Skuas including 3 adult pale morph Pomarines.

    Had a Kingfisher and a Raven in Glenrothes town park yesterday. First kingfisher i've seen this year and the first raven i've ever seen in the park.

    Good numbers of Sedge warblers around now, first Whitethroat on the reserve at the back of swamp hide. Marsh harrier and Short -eared owl hunting over egno moss.

    Female Smew present this afternoon, a pleasant surprise for May. Also a single Black-tailed Godwit, a C. Sandpiper, two Ringed plovers, the White wagtail and a load of hirundines. More Sedgies around too.

    Probably the same iceland gull this afternoon in ploughed field next to Pandamaran with a load of other gulls, plus around 20 sand martin and a swallow at forfar loch.
