Wildlife camera - night vision and wifi

I have two Brownings and a Wildgame. All three cameras do an OK job but I prefer the Brownings because they do either stills or video.

Looks like a Snowy Egret to me.

A Great Week in My Garden

I thought that it would be good to update this thread and tell anyone who is interested about what is happening in my garden here on the eastern coast of Canada at this time of year. The trees and shrubs are all budded out or even leafed out. Not many of them are in flower yet except for...

    The Demise of Birding Software

I've been using Bird's Diary for decades but it has stopped working. I don't mind too much not being able to enter data but am sorry that I can't access the years of accumulated data.

A Great Week in My Garden

My first Feederwatch day for the week. It started out in an unexpected way. I looked out of my window and there was beautiful Red Fox was standing at the foot of the feeder poles gazing up at them. Foxes of all colours are very common here in PEI but this is the first one that I have...

    US House Sparrow collapse?

I live in rural Prince Edward Island, Canada (Anne of Green Gables country). I used to be plagued by flocks of House Sparrows cleaning out all of my bird feeders but haven't seen one now for probably 5 years. I must also explain that all bird species visiting my feeders are down in numbers...

    Unnaturally friendly bird

What species of bird? Blue Jays, chickadees and crows are often hand tamed by people. More information about the bird would definitely help.

    Bird Feeders

I used to have two large white lilacs in the garden, similar size and age. My feeders were about halfway in between them. The one lilac had been invade by false azalea and the whole plant looked pretty untidy so my wife persuaded me to cut it down. My bird population dropped like a...

Bird species seen just the once in your yard/garden.

Gyrfalcon. An injured one showed up in my yard some years ago. It ended up in a captive breeding program because it was not releasable due to its injuries.

A Great Week in My Garden

We have dozen European Starlings at the feeders this week. They spend almost the whole day there with the result that we are not getting the other species. I am thinking of taking my feeders down for a few days in the hope that the starlings will move on.

    Ways of Feedings Dried Mealworms

This thread interests me because I've tried feeding freeze dried meal worms on numerous occasions but haven't seen anything eat them. Do you do anything to them to re-hydrate them? I've tried soaking them in water, in olive oil, various other liquids. Total lack of success. Maybe they...
