Wasn't there once a North Sea bird club for birders working on the rigs. I seem to recall reading in Birdwatching back in the eighties about the club, and some of the bird records particularly during spring and autumn migration.

Early start Swan pool and Hill Top checking for Ring Ouzels but very quiet migration wise. Plenty of Chiffchaffs about, Redpolls, Blackcap. Only thing of note on Swan pool was the GW Egret. Loads of Woodpigeons, particularly in the paddocks, and 26 Stock Doves on Swan pool meadow at 7am.

In the hedgerow between the dump and the paddocks: Lesser Whitethroat and Blackcap. Not much in the paddocks apart from Woodpigeons and Jackdaws.
