    Fledgling Gull?

    I found this fledgling in my garden yesterday, but I have no idea what it is. It's obviously not a usual garden bird, and I suspect it's some kind of gull from the beak. It's still there today, but no sign of any adult around.

    Many thanks - Lesser Redpolls with more familiar (striking?) markings have been regulars at our bird feeders for the last couple of weeks, so that makes sense.

    What type of redpoll?

    Hi - managed to grab a quick shot of these redpolls on the garden feeder this morning, but am unsure of which sort they are. My guess from looking at the books would be common/mealy, but if they aren't I'd appreciate a correction! As posted elsewhere, I'm a novice at this, but willing to learn!
