Collins bird guide 3rd edition in an App

The simplest way to check whether you’ve unlocked the content is that Black Swan has an illustration in the 3rd edition.

    New Viking 10x30 AIS Monocular

Hi again, Just had an optics weekend at Old Moor. Spent some time using the Viking IS monocular, yes there is an indicator (green LED) when you switch on. Don't know about auto shut-off for sure, but I think there is, because when I go it out of the box, it was switched 'on' but no LED...

    New Viking 10x30 AIS Monocular

I am a volunteer optics advisor at RSPB Old Moor, and have spent a few hours trying out the Viking IS monocular. The IS <does> work, you can feel a little 'kick' when you switch it on btw. The IS is particularly effective when looking at dragonflies or butterflies - the monocular will focus...

    Budget compact 8 x 32 choices

Well I live up in the Pennines, in Yorkshire UK, where any appearance of glare is welcome, because it means the sun is out! We get about 1200mm (47 inches) of rain here. But the sun is out today and I have looked across the valley at bright reflections of the sun on house windows, and the...

    Budget compact 8 x 32 choices

I just bought a pair of Nikon Monarch 7 8x30 after reading this thread. £259 from Clifton Cameras. They are a binocular I wouldn't have considered before I read the thread. So, thanks. They have exceeded my expectations as a second pair to carry in the pocket when walking or to pack for...

    Collins bird guide app

After a few weeks using the Collins on my iphone, I've just deleted my previous favourite app iBird... My favourite field guide in my pocket at all times and with the added ability to search, compare and hear calls and song. Just loving the Collins app.

    Collins bird guide app

I was at the launch at Birdfair. I seem to remember that someone mentioned the need to have extra memory to cope with the download. Would seem to me, though, that you have enough free.

    Mac Book Pro Editing Software

Have you seen what you can do with iPhoto, which every Mac comes with? Worth a look, if you haven't tried. I use iPhoto's big brother Aperture (£59 from the App store), together with Google's Nik suite, which works for me, and a lot cheaper than Lightroom + Photoshop, which will cost you £8.99...

    Collins bird guide app

What memory does your iPhone 5c have free? The app itself is pretty big and the videos take up memory on top of that. Some iPhone 5c models have only 8MB to start with. On my iPhone 4s the Bird Guide with the BTO maps takes up 734 MB. I really like the app. Up till the Collins was launched...

    Hello from Yorkshire, UK

Hello! I have been aware of the forum for a while, and have dipped in for a read from time-to-time, but decided to join, after looking at binocular advice here which is the best I have found anywhere. Anyway - live in Pennine Yorkshire, been casual birding all my life, sometimes part of other...
