Very similar to Mountain Owlet-nightjar.

Central New Guinea (Wissel Lakes region)
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1], which in the past has been placed as a subspecies in Mountain Owlet-nightjar.
IOC no longer recognizes the species and includes it again in Mountain Owlet-nightjar, however not even as a subspecies.
Habitat
They inhabit mountainous forests at heights around 2062–3600 m.

Diet
Little is record, but they are known to east small insects.
