Identification
A rather plain, black-lored cisticola.
Similar Species
Similar to Hunter's Cisticola, but Chubb's Cisticola has no streaking on its back and has a brighter rufous crown and neck.
Distribution
Africa
Western Africa: Nigeria, Cameroon and Democratic Republic of Congo
Eastern Africa: Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania
Taxonomy
Considered by some authorities to be conspecific with Hunter's Cisticola, but no evidence of integradation seems to occur in areas where the two species overlap.

- Southern Cameroon (Mount Cameroon)
- C. c. chubbi:

- South-eastern Zaire (Marungu Plateau)
Habitat
Dense vegetation along woodland streams and forest edges.
