Distribution
Asia: found in Russia, Siberia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Mongolia, China, Tibet, Inner Mongolia, Nepal, India, Eastern and Western Himalayas.
Taxonomy

- P. f. fulvescens:
- Tien Shan Mountains to Afghanistan and Pakistan
- P. f. dahurica:
- Altai Mountains to Mongolia
- P. f. dresseri:
- P. f. nanschanica:
- Montane forests of western China on Qinghai/Gansu border
- P. f. khamensis:
- P. f. sushkini:
- Treeline mountain slopes of southern Tibet

Shrubland.
