Identification

Distribution

Found on the eastern slopes of the Andes in eastern Colombia and western Venezuela.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species.
It was formerly included in Stripe-headed Brush Finch. It has in the past been placed in genus Atlapetes and is also placed in Buarremon by some authorities.

Habitat

Behaviour

Usually fouraging on ground or very low in undergrowth.
