Distribution

Asia: found in central and southern China to south-eastern Tibet and Nepal. Southeast Asia: Indochina, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species^[1].

Subspecies arcanus isn't generally recognised^[2].

Habitat

Alpine scrub.
