Genus: Philepitta
Description
Two Asities from Madagascar.
Both species are rotund, almost tailless birds with a short wings, a slightly decurved bill and marked sexual dichromatism.
Taxonomy
Philepitta is a genus in the Family Philepittidae.
The taxonomic history of this genus is long and it has been placed in the Starlings, the Birds-of-paradise and the Sunbirds.
