Description

Batises, Wattle-eyes and Shrike-flycatchers.

Taxonomy

Platysteiridae is one of the Ocine families within Passeriformes.

Some authorities include the the family Platysteiridae in the Malaconotidae.
Ward's Flycatcher, Black-and-white Shrike-flycatcher and African Shrike-flycatcher used to be included here but are now placed in the Vangidae.
