Identification

Distribution

South America: found in Bolivia, Paraguay and Argentina.

Taxonomy

Clements1 and IOC2 place this species in the genus Tarphonomus.

Subspecies[1]

Three subspecies are recognized:

  • T. c. estebani:
  • T. c. luscinia:
  • Chaco of western Argentina (La Rioja and Mendoza)
  • T. c. certhioides:

Habitat

Dry shrubland.
