Genus: Chamaea

Description

This genus contains only one species, the Wrentit.

Taxonomy

Chamaea is a genus in the family Paradoxornithidae.
It is sometimes also placed in the Timaliidae or the Sylviidae, which makes it the only American member of the Old World Babblers. This conclusion is not only based on genetic but also on behavioural evidence. This genus seems to be very close to Moupinia but the song is clearly less musical.
