- Reddish underparts
- Sky-blue crown with pale feather edges
Distribution
South America: found on the eastern slope of Andes in Peru (from La Libertad) and Bolivia to Santa Cruz.
Taxonomy
Formerly included in the genus Delothraupis.
Subspecies
This is a monotypic species[1].
Subspecies peruviana is now considered a junior synonym and is deleted.
Habitat
Thick humid and wet montane forests, elfin woodland and thickets.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists of insects and berries.
