Identification

13 cm
Male

Sexually dimorphic. Female duller with only the forehead yellow.

Distribution

North America: found in Costa Rica and western Panama

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Lower montane cloud forest. Observed at heights around 1,524 m (5,000 ft).

Behaviour

Diet

Their diet consists mainly of fruit, particularly mistletoe.
