Identification

Very large, may recall a mockingbird. Mostly brownish, with white supercilium and throat, and underside paler than upperside. Wings have buffy wing bars and edgings.

Distribution

South east Brazil

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species1.

A new taxon described as a new species (Cipo Cinclodes, Cinclodes espinhacensis) was by the SACC determined to be better treated as a new subspecies of Long-tailed Cinclodes.

Habitat

Grassland, usually near water.

Behaviour

Feeds on the ground.
