Distribution

South America: found in arid areas of western Ecuador, Peru and northern Chile.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Shrublands.

Behaviour

Breeding

It builds a platform of sticks for its nest and 2 eggs are laid.

Vocalisation

The common name refers to the frog-like croaking song
