Two species from South America.
Both are dimorphic. The males have a black-and-white plumage, the females are greenish.
Conothraupis is a genus in the family Thraupidae.
May be close to the genus Sporophila (which was formerly placed in Emberizidae.
Cone-billed Tanager has also been placed in its own monotpyic genus Rhynchothraupis.
