Distribution
South America: found in The Guianas, Suriname, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina.

There are 3 subspecies[1]:
- C. c. cucullatus:
- The Guianas and north-eastern Brazil (east to Pará)
- C. c. rubescens:
- C. c. fargoi:
Habitat
Forests and dry shrubland.
Behaviour
Diet
They forage on the ground, but there is no information available about what constitutes their diet.
Breeding
They construct a cup-shaped nest from small twigs and vine stems, with dry grass and spider web.
