Identification

15cm. Sooty-grey to dark brown above, darker head, especially around the eye, white iris, dark orbital ring, dark upperparts, pale underparts, white throat, buffish belly, dull apricot patch between the legs

Distribution

Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

Taxonomy

Monotypic.
Placed in genus Parisoma by Howard and Moore.
The genus Parisoma was split from the genus Sylvia in the late 1990's (Lepage, 2008).

Habitat

Woodland and cultivated terraces, bushes, and hedgerows.

Behaviour

They nest in bushes or trees, and 3 eggs are laid.

The diet includes insects and fruits.
