Distribution
Endemic to north and central Borneo.
Generally common and widespread.
Taxonomy
This a monotypic species was split from what was Sunda Treepie; the remainder of that species is now Sumatran Treepie.
Habitat
Mountain ranges to 2,800m; forest, forest edge, bamboo thickets and scrubland.
Behaviour
A sociable bird, often seen in noisy groups in the canopy.
A sedentary species.
Diet
The diet includes small fruit, seeds, beetles and cockroaches. Scavenges for food around villages.
Breeding
Breeding confirmed from January to March. It builds a shallow nest from twigs, placed low in a tree. The 2 eggs are greenish-white with brown markings.
