Identification
33–40 cm (13-15¾ in)
- Black face, sides of head and upper parts
- White throat
- Orangey-brown lower throat
- Blackish breast
- Orange-brown lower abdomen and thighs
- Dark brown eyes
- Yellow green cere
- Black bill, becoming green towards the base on the lower mandible
- Bright yellow feet
Similar species
Bat Falcon will not usually have two colors in the throat area (either whitish or orange but not one above the other).

Nests on cliff ledges in a scrape or cup shaped depression.
Diet
Their diet consists almost entirely of flying birds such as pigeons, caciques, and parrots, shore birds swifts and martins.
