Genus: Gampsorhynchus

Description

This genus contains two species from SE-Asia.
They have a deep, hook-tipped, almost shrike-like bill, long and strong rictal bristles, a long graduated tail and a pale coloration. The highly social behaviour is also typical.

Taxonomy

Gampsorhynchus is a genus in the Family Pellorneidae.
It was formerly placed in the family Timaliidae.
Molecular studies place this genus close to the very different looking Pseudominla.
