Habitat
Arid woodland, lightly timbered country near water, grasslands, gardens.

The diet includes grass seeds.
Breeding
The nest is woven from grasses and twigs. The 2 white eggs are laid and incubated for 13-14 days; the young fledgings 2 weeks later.
