Southeast Asia: found in Indochina, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Borneo, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Greater Sundas, Sumatra, Java, Bali, Sulawesi, Lesser Sundas
Taxonomy
Subspecies
There are 4 subspecies[1]:
- G. s. flaveola :
- Sulawesi, Salayar and Banggai Islands (Peleng and Banggai)
- G. s. sulphurea:
- G. s. simplex:
- Lubang, Luzon, Mindoro, Verde, Negros, Bohol and Cebu
- G. s. rhizophorae:
- Southern Philippines (Mindanao, Basilan and Sulu Archipelago)
Habitat
Open country, second growth, mangroves and residential areas.
Behaviour
Diet
Little known, but they eat insects gleaned from leaves higher up in the trees.
Movements
A resident species.
