Comoro Islands and Madagascar.
Taxonomy
Subspecies
There are 3 subspecies[1]:
- M. v. comorensis:
- Comoro Islands (Grand Comoro, Mohéli and Anjouan)
- M. v. drouhardi:
- Western and southern Madagascar
- M. v. vasa:
- Savanna and forests of eastern Madagascar
Habitat
They are found in all native forest types, secondary forest and trees surrounding villages.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists of fruits, berries and seeds.
Breeding
The 2 or 3 eggs are incubated by the female.
