Distribution
South America: found in Colombia and Venezuela.
Taxonomy
Formerly included Copper-tailed Hummingbird.
Subspecies
Two subspecies are recognized[1].
- S. v. viridigaster:
- Eastern slope of Eastern Andes of Colombia
- S. v. iodura:
- Andes of western Venezuela (Táchira)
- Andes of western Venezuela (Táchira)
Habitat
Tropical and submontane forest edges.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists of nectar and insects.
