  • Short, down-curved bill
  • Yellowish-olive green
  • Paler face and underparts

Maui and Hawaii.

Taxonomy

Formerly placed in the genus Hemignathus.

Subspecies

Chlorodrepanis virens has two subspecies:[1]

  • C. v. wilsoni
  • Forests of Maui
  • C. v. virens
  • Forests of Hawaii

Habitat

Behaviour

Diet

They have a varied diet, consisting of nectar, as well as caterpillars and other soft bodied invertebrates.

Breeding

They breed throughout the year. They are monogamous, the pair remaining together for several years.
