Genus: Hemiprocne, Treeswifts

Description

Quite small to mid-sized swift-like birds. Very long wings which cross over back when perching. Long outertail feathers, distinctive head plumes. Males and Females easily distinguished. Treeswifts like to perch upright, resembling swallows more like swifts. They are noisy and mildly gregarious when the feed, but they breed solitary, laying one egg.

The four species of Treeswifts form the family Hemiprocnidae which contains only one genus, Hemiprocne
