Braun's Bushshrike - BirdForum Opus

Identification

Rufous cap and orange-red throat and breast with black mask. Wings black with broad white stripe. Belly white. Bill and legs black.

Endemic to northwest Angola (Cuanza Norte escarpment).

This is a monotypic species^[2].

Regarded by some authorities as subspecies of Luehder's Bushshrike.

Mid-stratum and undergrowth of forest and forest edge.

Classified as Endangered in the 2010 IUCN Red List.^[1]

Calls include waark, whook and a soft bou-bou.
