Genus: Lophorina
Description
This genus contains only one species, the Superb Bird-of-Paradise from New Guinea.
Similar to the Riflebirds the male has a delta-shaped breast shield which can be errected.
Females are markedly smaller and similar in appearance to other female Birds-of-paradise.
Taxonomy
Lophorina is a monotypic genus in the family Paradisaeidae.
Hybrids with various other Birds-of-Paradise have been recorded.
