Distribution

Eastern Africa: endemic to Miombo woodlands of south-central Zambia.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Open woodland with a high density of Sycamore Figs (Ficus sycomorus); moist savanna and farmland.

Status

Classified as Near Threatened in the 2007 IUCN Red List due to its relatively small range and habitat degradation within that range.

Behaviour

Usually in pairs or small groups which roost and feed together. Mainly figs (but also arthropods) are eaten.
