Identification
Pale grey-brown upperparts and white underparts with dark streaks. Slim straight relatively short bill, yellow eyes and a long tail.
Distribution
Western North America, from southern Canada to northern Arizona, New Mexico and Mexico. Casual to Accidental vagrant in eastern United States and Canada.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species in a monotypic genus.[1]
Habitat
Shrubby areas with sage bushes.
Behaviour
4 or 5 eggs are laid in a twiggy cup nest built in a low bush. Both parents incubate and feed the young birds.
The diet includes insects and berries.
