Southeast Asia: found in Indonesia, Greater Sundas, Sumatra, Sulawesi and the Moluccas

• Sulawesi

• P. m. dichrorhyncha:

• Peleng Island and Banggai Islands (off Sulawesi)

• P. m. eutreptorhyncha:

• Sula Islands (eastern of Sulawesi)

Mangrove forests

Behaviour

Plunges from an overhanging perch for fish and crayfish.
