Distribution

Brazil and Paraguay.

Taxonomy

Placed by Clements1 and IOC2 in genus Syndactyla.

Syndactyla dimidiata has two subspecies:1

  • S. d. dimidiata
  • South-western Brazil (southern Mato Grosso)
  • S. d. baeri
  • South-eastern Brazil (Goiás) to extreme north-eastern Paraguay (Concepción)

Habitat

Moist lowland forests.
