Genus: Pnoepyga
Description
This genus contains five species of Wren-Babblers or Cupwings from SE Asia. All are very small and almost tailless (only six short tail feathers) and have scaling on underparts and also upperparts. They also occur in two colour morphs and share a thin bill and tiny front claws.
They live in the undergrowth and can be very difficult to see.
Taxonomy
Pnoepyga is the only genus in the Family Pnoepygidae.
It was formerly included in the family Timaliidae.
