• Bright green
• Red spots on head, breast, neck
• White bare skin around iris
• Red at bend of wing

Distribution

South-western Cuba (Zapata Swamp); formerly Isle of Pines.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species^[1].
Formerly placed in genus Aratinga.

Habitat

Grassland where palms grow, woodland edges, and forests.

Behaviour

They fly in small flocks.

Breeding

They nest in termite nests or tree holes. The 3-5 eggs are incubated for 22 days; the young fledging 45-50 days later.
