Threskiornis solitarius

Identification

Extinct. It had a white plumage, black wingtips and tail, dark head, long bill and legs.

Taxonomy

Formerly considered to be a Solitaire, related to the Dodo.

Habitat

Forests near freshwater.

Behaviour

Its diet included invertebrates such as worms and crustaceans.
