Distribution
Asia: China, India, Nicobar Islands
Southeast Asia: Indochina, Thailand, Malaysia, Malay Peninsula, Brunei, Singapore, Borneo
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species.
It was formerly considered conspecific with Nicobar Jungle Flycatcher and both were formerly placed in genus Rhinomyias.
Habitat
Bamboo undergrowth, low bushes in broadleaved evergreen forests; secondary forest and forest edges between 600 -1,600 m.
Behaviour
Diet
The diet includes insects which are hawked aerially.
Breeding
A cup-shaped nest is built in a shallow tree-cavity.
