  • Rufous plumage (brighter underparts)
  • Darker brown wings
  • Grey bill with pink or horn base

Distribution

Central and South America
Central America: Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama
South America: Colombia and Ecuador

Habitat

Lowland rainforest and humid primary forest up to 1200 m.

Diet

The diet includes large insects and caterpillars and many seeds and fruit.
